Stay on Track!

IMG 3790

Many of Cornwall’s residents enjoy running and/or walking, and the track at the Cornwall Central Middle School had been tread upon by thousands of sneakers!
The track is not only utilized by Cornwall’s students and our track athletes at the varsity, JV, and modified level, but also by many other individuals in our community.
Over the past 2 years, the immensely popular program Girls on the Run has also begun to make use of the track, raising a new generation of girls to be joyful and healthy runners.
With all this activity, the track was in desperate need of repair. The renovation work was quoted at a cost of $250,000. In addition, the track at the Cornwall Central High School was not far behind in its need for repair work.
By completing both track projects, we can prevent the need for more extensive – and expensive – work in the future.
Last June the Cornwall Community Foundation hosted a Color-A-Thon this coupled with additional funds raised at our 2015 Gala event we were able to achieve our goal of $25,000.
Presentation of our donation will be at the ground-breaking ceremony in the Spring of 2016.
