Our Board of Directors is comprised of nine members of the Cornwall community. We are dedicated to harnessing the energy and talents that are so abundant in our town, to make Cornwall the best place to live in New York state.

Executive Director- Jeanne Parsons
Jeanne is a Cornwall resident and a mom of two children in the Cornwall schools.   She is a CPA with 20 years of experience in auditing, accounting, and providing technical support to public company auditors at KPMG, AT&T, and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), respectively.    Jeanne holds an MBA from the University of Buffalo. She serves as Treasurer of the Cornwall Elementary School PTO and is active on the Cornwall Central Middle School PTO as well.  She has participated on Cornwall’s School Budget Advisory Committee for 4 years.

Treasurer - Leah Johnson
Leah is an active member of the Cornwall community.  She has volunteered on the RiverFest and Economic Development committees and is currently Treasurer for the Cornwall Elementary School PTO.  She holds a BS in Logistics and Marketing from Syracuse University and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  She spent 10 years at IBM, working in manufacturing as a Logistics Analyst and onsite at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as a Business Analyst. She resides in Cornwall with her husband and two children.

Director of Grants - Allison Barry
Allison Barry is the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the West Point Association of Graduates.  She holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA from University of Rochester.  She lives in Salisbury Mills with her husband and two sons.

Director of Event Planning - Renee Tobin
Renee Tobin has a Ph.D. from Fordham University in Language Learning & Literacy and a MA from Columbia University, Teachers College. After working as a learning specialist in Manhattan’s private schools, she started a tutoring business over 10 years ago, teaching students with learning disabilities and those needing extra support in reading, writing and study skills. She serves on the boards of The John Jay College, The A. Brean Murray and The Columbia University High School Summer Program Scholarship Funds. Renee, her husband Brad and their three daughters became permanent Cornwall residents in 2011. Their daughters attend the Cornwall Schools. In 1904 Renee’s family built their home in Cornwall on Hudson and founded The Cornwall Presbyterian Church and The Storm King School.

Director of Fundraising - Jill Cappa
Jill is a life long resident of the Hudson Valley.  She has four children who have attended – or are currently attending – Cornwall schools.  Jill has over 20 years of fundraising experience, having held board positions at the YWCA of New Windsor, Meals on Wheels, Cornwall Hospital Foundation, Nora Cronin Presentation Academy and most recently as President of the St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Auxiliary. She will be joining St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital Foundation Board in December.  Jill is a graduate of Leadership Orange, and attended Pace University and Nyack College with a BS in organizational management. She works part time fundraising as the Outreach and Participant Coordinator for Get Your Guts in Gear, a non profit organization that produces charity bike rides nationwide to support the treatment and cure of Crohn’s and Colitis.

Board Member - Harvey Sotland
Harvey is the Assistant Superintendent for Business for the Cornwall Central School District.  He has over 30 years of experience in public school administration and various other financial service industries.  Harvey is a CPA and holds a MS in Education and an MS in School Business Administration.  He lives in Dutchess County with his wife and two children.

Board Member - Lisa Benitez
Lisa Benitez grew up in the Town of Newburgh and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point.  As a cadet, she earned All-American Honors in both Cross-Country and Track & Field.  Upon graduation, she served as a Corps of Engineers Officer and had responsibilities in “Nation Building Operations” in Costa Rica and Honduras.  Lisa was awarded the Bronze Star Medal during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After leaving active duty, she remained in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Captain until 2000.  In 1997 she joined the Association of Graduates at West Point as a Class Giving Officer, and she is now the Director of Class and Annual Giving, responsible for soliciting all 46,000 living graduates of West Point.  Lisa is an Officer Representative for both the Army Track and Field and Cross Country Teams.  She is the Treasurer of the Navy Women’s Soccer Team and is on the Board of West Point Women. Lisa remains a competitive runner competing in various races in the northeast.  She is the mother of two daughters, both graduates of Cornwall Central High School in 2009 and 2011.
